The Paradox of Silence

February 3, 2010

Silence

“A paradox is a statement or group of statements that leads to a contradiction or a situation which defies intuition. The term is also used for an apparent contradiction that actually expresses a non-dual truth.”

“An attempted al Qaeda attack against the United States is a high possibility in the next 3 to 6 months, the nations' top intelligence chiefs testified today. "An attempted attack, the priority is certain, I would say," Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

CIA director Leon Panetta and FBI director Robert Mueller both told the committee they agreed with Blair's stark assessment, when asked by committee chairwoman Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California.

Blair and Panetta both said it is becoming more difficult to identify the threat posed by an evolving al Qaeda, which has become more reliant on its regional terror networks to conduct attacks. Panetta shared Blair's assessment of the al Qaeda threat as something that has changed since the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, when four coordinated groups of terrorists hijacked separate airliners to crash them in New York and Washington.

"My greatest concern and what keeps me awake at night is that al Qaeda and its terrorist allies and affiliates could very well attack the United States in our homeland," the CIA director said. "The biggest threat I see is not so much that we face another attack similar to 9/11. I think the greater threat is that al Qaeda is adapting their methods in ways that oftentimes make it difficult to detect."

Al Qaeda has found new safe havens and established "regional nodes in places like Yemen and Somalia, the Maghreb [North Africa] and others," he said. Panetta also warned that he is becoming increasing concerned about threats from "lone wolf" terrorists who act on their own without any central planning from an established terror network such as al Qaeda.” (*)

“Terror, Terror, Terror; al Qaeda, al Qaeda, al Qaeda”: Are we really going to ‘go there’ again?! Are we really that stupid? Since 2001 the policies this idiotic country has embarked upon, have been so lame; not only have we not produced any lessening of every kind of threat; but we have created false alarms and false-flag operations by the hundreds while we have bankrupted this nation down to and including the next ten generations. And we have done all this without ever having disciplined even one person for what supposedly started this nightmare. Also we have promoted many people based on what happened on 911 and yet we have retained the same supposedly serious security personnel that allowed all of this to happen, such as Robert Mueller.

At the very least the policies and ‘solutions’ which this government continues to choose have been disastrous at best, and have definitely involved high treason, for any one with an iota of common sense. Yet here again the same refrain is being sounded as if it were for the very first time:

“An attempted al Qaeda attack against the United States is a high possibility. . .”

After a full decade is it not yet time to change the record, change the rhetoric and fire the bastards that had any responsibility whatsoever with or for 911 or its immediate aftermath? Our foreign policies that are so important that people cannot be allowed to have fair trials (for their lives) because some supposed government “secret” might be revealed: Government should have thought about that before they created these super-secret-policies. All of this is pure garbage from beginning to end. Think about it—please. Our response to 911 was and apparently still is, in the immortal words of the resident drunk in charge of the Pentagon at the time, the rummy Donald Rumsfeld, who framed our policy position this way:

“WAR, WAR and LOTS MORE WAR”

Lots More WarStrangely it appears that Rummy might still have an office inside the Pentagon, although his latest venture into high end profits made from the production of vaccines for a ‘Pandemic” that never arrived has made him yet another fortune; so he might be too busy on his next massive plan to scam the public to bother with the totally confused Pentagon that is besieged with all the conflicting problems created by moonlighting agents, and totally out-of-control private mercenary-contractors that keep creating enemies everywhere for us, with their midnight death-squad raids, upon people that were supposed to be allies.

So many corrupted polices so many rotten generals and crooked politicians that almost anything in a US uniform ought to be ashamed of everything they do. Or as in the case in Haiti; Where it’s about what the 20,000 US troops have not done over the last three weeks by guarding the relief supplies still stored at the airport, while failing to distribute the food and water as well as the medical help that was promised so publicly three weeks ago. Haiti is at least a hundred times worse than Katrina was but what the two disasters share is the total failure of FEMA, or this entire government, to be able to do anything at all except to steal the supposed ‘relief-money’ and displace the survivors that they did not manage to kill outright. Great policy decisions all around and the best that this public can manage in response to all of it—is this continuing “paradox of silence”?

Reality in the world is a very messy thing, and to even attempt to have a functioning Republic is even more difficult: so what’s a population to do. This public has apparently decided to sit this set of problems out on the bench, as semi-permanent bystanders. Someone said: “How slowly [we] learn to embrace the paradox. Words being what they are, people being what they are, perhaps it would be better always to say the opposite of what one means?”

What this nation has to become concerned about are values, not policies. Because without values no policy can ever be worth the paper it’s printed on. This dump has no soul, no spirit, no fire burning anywhere in either the hole where the heart used to be, or in that empty place where the brain supposedly resided.

Welcome to the Paradox of Silence people; maybe that ought to be immortalized upon our collective tombstone, except that when this is over no one will care how we died, that will just be a founding fact, for whatever follows us.
