"Vice
President Dick Cheney has asserted his office is not part of the executive
branch of the U.S. government, and therefore not bound by a presidential
order governing the protection of classified information by government
agencies, according to a new letter from Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., to
Cheney." (1)
Apparently Mr. Cheney is unaware
that he receives a salary from the people of this nation as an officer of
this government. Somehow he has managed not to notice that his office also
appears on the Organizational Chart for the federal government of the
nation. As Vice-President he has his own plane - Air Force Two, paid for
the taxpayers; yet he has continually demanded special privileges in every
area of his 'service to the country' - in favor of several more lucrative
and less responsible "special privileges" that he has awarded to
himself. This has been the case since he first arrived in the
Vice-Presidential mansion, as part of the Coup in 2000.
It is time for Mr. Cheney to
appear, forcibly if necessary, before a joint session of the appropriate
committees in congress to answer under oath and in public for his actions.
Until he answers these questions he should be removed from office, and
treated just as Spiro Agnew was in the Nixon era.
The questions from congress
should address all of Cheney's reluctances; from his refusal to discuss
those that met with him when 'they' created the nation's energy polices,
in 2001, all the way through the entirety of his two terms in the Office
of the Vice-Presidency of the United States. That would include his
takeover of the Secret Service's control over the White House logs; in
order to keep secret from the public, just who exactly met with him and
when: over the national energy policy that he alone has deemed to be
classified information.
Mr. Cheney has continued to
repeat proven lies to the public, surrounding the 'wars' in which he has
played a major cheerleading role, despite all facts to the contrary. His
continual linking of Saddam to 911 has been particularly offensive; in
light of the facts that there was never any link whatsoever. Also, his
role in the Valerie Plame Affair; the outing of an active duty CIA Officer
in direct violation of the laws prohibiting such an action needs to be
thoroughly and publicly reviewed, under oath and on the public record.
Cheney needs to be forced to
answer for these and for all his other self-appointed actions and
irresponsibility's, as the Vice-President of the United States. If this is
not done then all pretense of there being any real teeth in the laws of
the United States, will be clearly on the record for the entire world to
see. Either the laws of this country apply to all of us, or they apply to
no one: there can be no continuing double-standard here-war or no war!
This latest outrage simply cannot
be allowed to stand without consequences. Thanks to Cheney-Bush we are
entangled in wars without end, trying desperately to fight a tactic,
instead of a literal enemy, in a multi-national war without end. Cheney as
one of the major architects of that war needs to be examined publicly for
his role in the compartmentalization's that have led this nation into
these cul-de-sacs of failures, in every aspect of life in these disunited
States. We cannot have a war against a tactic, and terrorism is a nothing
but "a tactic." (2)
"The Oversight Committee has
learned that over the objections of the National Archives, Vice President
Cheney exempted his office from the presidential order that establishes
government-wide procedures for safeguarding classified national security
information. The Vice President asserts that his office is not an
"entity within the executive branch." (3)
The Vice-President has declared
himself to be above and beyond the law. If congress does not act
immediately then everyone will know that this government has become the
clear enemy of the people of this nation, and that at the very least will
finally bring some candor to this farce that claims to lead the nation...
