George and the Tar Baby

April 7,  2004

Why are we so firmly stuck in the quagmire of the Middle East, and in Iraq in particular? One basic reason is that the current US administration has no idea of how coordination or integrated actions work. They're stuck in the kinds of compartmentalization that go hand in hand with black-box operations, grand theft, and secret government missions that would definitely die if they were ever exposed to light.

Another major flaw that this administration suffers from is their complete lack of understanding for the kinds of people that are needed, to run anything bigger than a breadbox. Character, is yet another missing ingredient from the Backroom Bandits playbook. Top that all off with all that inherent distrust, that comes from bringing in too many thieves, on the same operation. This policy creates major flaws, as each player instinctively distrusts and suspects all others. That's what we have at the top of this administration's org chart.
A bunch of truly failed individuals that collectively couldn't find their way out of a paper bag, much less one of the most complex political and military nightmares that anyone has ever created.

And who is in charge of this mob of misfits? History may have to determine who was actually pulling the strings on this White House Special Presentation of "WAR, WAR & Lots More War" that is currently running throughout the known world. However this production has been brought to us through the generosity of a group of individuals and campaign supporters, unlike any that the world has ever seen. They've been portrayed, of course, in a million bad novels and ugly movies for decades. But never before has the nightmare been made so real, as the one these incompetents have now created. They have done this to the planet and now they're hopelessly adrift as to how to extricate themselves from responsibility for the whole affair. On the one hand they still demand to profit from it all: yet they want no responsibility for the phenomenally massive collapse that is so obviously unfolding, from their adventures in destruction of our formerly global civilization.

"What to do?" Indeed, what do we do, now that we have licensed this pack of Hyenas to pillage and plunder at will, with no checks at all on the greed of their appetites, or the arrogance of their words, not to mention the complete and utter failures of their actions.

Led by George W. Bush a man who would be the new leader of the world. Bush began as just another spoiled kid, insecure, basically uninterested in anything serious or real. While others spent their time in college on education or sports, with the occasional party: George upended those priorities completely. He was there to play, not on the gridiron but at the all-night parties, at blowouts, and of course in the dramas of the mornings-after. Instead of competition George became a cheerleader. Instead of higher learning George continued to 'just get by.' But with a lot of help from daddy, he finally finished and was ready for the world.

But the world wanted no part of George. A spoiled brat who really wasn't good for very much besides his name, George drifted.  And all of this continued on, living out a saga of schemes and plots with daddy's money made and lost, but nothing stuck to Simple George. At least not as long as daddy was there to bail him out. But now he's gone and done it, on his own at last, and even daddy cannot help him now. No one can help him now, he's the figurehead on the ship of state that's about to strike the iceberg, and this ship will most likely go down with all hands. Of course, he will scream at every other person he can find, to blame, for what's about to be. But that really does not matter in this Shakespearean tragedy of George and the Tar Baby.

There's enough blame to spread around to one and all in this. Just think of all those millions that all the candidates have raised that's about the only single thing that simple George has done, throughout these last four years. He's turned Air Force One into a barnstorming wonder, on the campaign trail to raise more loot to keep the party going! And all of it, will of course go back into those same pockets of those who gave it to him, along with Billions more in government largess. Ah the American way of private enterprise, and now it seems we've just discovered, that 60% of US corporations pay nothing in taxes. And over 70% of offshore corporations doing business here also pay no US taxes. Ouch! Looks like the little people are still paying, and paying and paying for virtually everything, including all that's being done to them -to crush their insignificant lives.

But we were not to notice this smaller scandal, within the context of the larger crimes. No, we were to remain petrified of our own shadows, even in broad daylight: because "America's at WAR!" The created "terrorists" were to have kept all our senses dulled to all but fear and paranoia and to hell with everything that didn't directly threaten the US of A. The curtain that shrouded all of this, is becoming transparent, and what we're beginning to see is not what we had thought we'd find.

It seems that after all the flags and bunting fell away, all that's left are cringing, ugly, creatures. Arrogant fools, so fraught with greed, with appetites so large that they can never know their fill. And we made them all. We created them by never asking why, or how, or especially how much, or, for how long? But those deeds are done now, and someone needs to begin to think about what we're planning to do about the day after tomorrow. Simple George and his bandits have smashed and broken three nations, destroying much that was priceless in the process: not least among those lost-forever-things are the goodwill and trust of this nation, by the rest of the world. In case you were wondering the third nation that was leveled, was our own.
Maybe we should constitute a court of criminal inquiry and begin to look beneath all the double-speak, and behind all the masks, not to mention under all the rocks that have hidden all those who live only in "secure locations." Look at these people who claim to be our leaders. There is not one among them with a shred of decency or self-respect. These creatures only serve themselves. They care nothing about you or me or any other human beings. They only care about their ill-gotten gains, and how
much more is left to grab. This needs to stop, unless we still refuse to connect their actions to that disaster that will be our mutual future.

Listen carefully and you can hear the wail beginning now. "Lies, Lies, All Lies: How dare they accuse the president of such despicable things!" "If the traitors don't like it they can just go back to_______" And on and on it will go. But nature hates imbalance and the transparent lies that serve to make that so. Nature will always find ways to shatter all that they attempt to do. There are natural consequences for all actions that fail to deal with all the possibilities. That's exactly what has happened with the Tar Baby that the Bushites have created. In this land of Iraq, its sun and sand and oil will hold them tightly bound until all of this dissolves again into more death, more chaos and even more destruction. When the final chapter on this outrage is finally written, sometime hence, it will not be kind to simple George and all his little playmates. And we should not be more forgiving than all those that have been killed or injured, by this grand adventure into the world of high stakes greed.
