A president of the United States of America is responsible for many things.
He is responsible for the health and well being of the citizens, for the
financial stability of the nation, and for the security and general defense
of the country. As head of the Executive branch of government he is
responsible for the prosecution of all our laws, under the constitution, for
enforcing all the previously passed laws of this land and he is also
responsible for all policies and agreements entered into on behalf of the
United States.
In addition, as our national leader, he is responsible to the country to
maintain the decorum that the office embodies, and as our representative in
the community of nations, Bush is responsible for his behavior on the world
stage.
What about all that stuff above? Just look closely at his
responsibilities: he has not met any of them. Moreover Bush has endeavored
to go the extra mile in each and every case, not to fulfill those duties but
to destroy them. Completely.
In every instance cited in the first paragraph, the records of this
administration (all of them that have not yet been shredded) speak for
themselves. Health care and prescription drugs have become a wholesale
giveaway to his friends, in those industries, allowing their prices to rise
by 20% a year regardless of actual costs. We have the most expensive drugs
on the world markets, and the government will not even attempt to bargain
with the companies, using the huge senior population as a captive consumer
group to obtain price reductions. http://www.commondreams.org/news2004/0401-10.htm

The budget is a joke, which apparently now has a number of immense holes, in
the trillions, caused by accounting errors throughout its outlays. You might
remember that one of the reasons for accepting so much money from Kenneth
Lay of Enron was to pattern the US Government’s accounting systems on
those twisted systems created by Enron.
The security of the nation has never been more in doubt, despite hundreds
of billions spent (in all the wrong places, on all the

wrong people), to create, through the US Department of HOMELAND security
an agency so large as to be completely unmanageable. (This was a man who
ran on a platform of a much smaller, much more responsive government) What
we have is a completely ineffective hodge-podge of conflicting turf wars,
masquerading as whole divisions of useful government—and now by sending
a number of federal jobs offshore, the government itself is no longer even
American. Bush, instead of protecting and enhancing the American way of
life, has successfully destroyed, our jobs, out educational possibilities,
our potential for any future that envisions living life outside the camps
that are now ready and waiting.

Instead of defending this nation, George W. Bush has sought to destroy
everything of value and our way of life, not to mention creating the worst
possible environment between each and every one of us; by pounding the war
drums, while screaming into every corner of our lives, about all that we
must fear. Nor should we ever forget that we must now surrender all our
rights—just to live in terror under this new fascist state of
multi-national corporate capitalism: Theirs is a creed that recognizes no
authority but its own greed, no principals except raw power, and whose
only benchmark is unlimited profits for the very few. Is this how a
president: "provides for the common good, and protects and defends
the constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic?" Not by
a long shot!
Bush has become famous for the sneer, the macho swagger, and his
intolerance of anyone not painted red, white and blue. As a conscious
being, he is loathsome. His manner is that of one without a purpose, to
whom everything beside himself is Stupid! He publicly mocks his
detractors, and has done everything except literally spit upon all our
foreign treaties and agreements. He’s hideous to watch, being perhaps
one of the least human people we’ve ever had in high office, never mind
as president. The man has no sense of honor, either personal or national,
no understanding of dignity, because he possesses none himself. With his
barnyard approach to diplomacy he has certainly played the fool upon the
world stage. From day one of his administration he has marked America and
Americans, as being completely clueless idiots, around the world.
Before 2000, when we paid taxes, we paid them to the United States
Treasury, theoretically to the US government. That money went to run the

nation, fund the dictates of congress, and maintain the things that the
laws have mandated.
Today whenever taxes are collected they go straight into The Bush War
on the World. Collect the heads of the cabinet, in your mind’s eye.
Arrange them in any order that you chose, and then ask yourself why you
are paying out hard earned cash—to basically give these people the means
to continue what they are doing in your name?

You make everything possible. When challenged the Cretans say that you
elected them, which is a lie. They also say they are protecting you. Just
look around, do you feel protected? Have you lost someone near and dear,
in one of the several Bush WARS? When did you last get a raise? Are you
certain of anything anymore? Certainly no job today is secure, not even
the sovereignty of the country is certain anymore. All that’s clear
today is that we now have an out-of-control dictator that has committed an
untold number of impeachable offences. And we know that Congress has yet
to act on any of these transgressions of the highest order. Why not? See
"the license" that Bush was given by congress when all of this
began? Don’t look to the Supreme Court for help either; they sold out on
12-12-2000 – when they stopped the Florida vote, before all the votes
were counted.
Your political party won’t be of much use either. This is something
very basic. This is about the kind of nation you want to live in, and what
you want your taxes to go for. Political parties simply do not do anything
as small, as what most people might want. For help with this one, we must
revert to what we did before there were formal parties to "represent
our wishes." Because they too have failed us, badly.
There was a time when people spoke for themselves, without the stamps
of approval handed out (or bought) from any political party. There was a
time when people took care of the most basic things in their lives, rather
than just delegating it to someone else. Sometimes, even today,
individuals take matters into their own hands, when it is important enough
to do something about a transgression that is too threatening to life, or
to the continuance of that life. This is too important to delegate to some
disinterested third party. This is also something that need not wait for
the election.
Start now with your local television stations, newspapers, radio
talk shows. Talk, and listen. Write and read more often. Find out what the
hell has

been going on while we were obviously sleeping. Question
everything and everyone, not simply to be argumentative, but to learn
more, if you can, about those particular topics that light your fires.
After all, you are paying, for all of this. Shouldn’t you at least know,
what they are doing, and how much what they’re doing is costing you?

This is why we had a constitution so that we would never have to make
these kinds of choices. And had the constitution been protected, (another
presidential failure), that would still be true. But the constitution is
no longer in effect. Ask Tom Ridge, or maybe John Ashcroft. Neither man is
very competent with speech, but you can try. Call them up. Write to them.
Ask them what the hell is going on? If they tell you "We’re at
WAR" ask them to prove who did 911, and then you’ll believe we’re
at war. But in the meantime, "why can’t we have our constitution
back?" It’s been around since the beginning of this country. These
creeps couldn’t get a job if it weren’t for the likes of the Bush
Brigades: and yet they’re part of those who have redesigned our lives to
fit into their dirty little plans.
We are either a nation of laws and not of men, or we are a gang of
bandits that simply tolerate the masses of those less fortunate—at least
until the poor can be removed from that equation. So which of these ideals
captures the way you want to live your life, and how many others share
that vision?
When human lives are written in the invisible ink of power politics—then
blood is all that matters in the end. Liberty is a constant torch and one
that always is in need of feeding by each new generation. But we skipped
some generations, and we’ve grown soft. We have assumed things that we
have not earned, and now we must pay for what we say we need
So let’s begin to talk!
